I just put up a poll: which part of the world is your favorite for travel?

WESTERN EUROPE: I group Western Europe (meaning in Europe anything west of Austria and Germany, excluding the British Isles) into one region known as Western Europe. From a traveler’s perspective there will be things you love and things you hate about it.

STRENGTHS: History, Food, Cities, great tourism infrastructure, trains, countryside

WEAKNESSES: Tourist hordes in summer, expensive

THE BRITISH ISLES: Means Britain, Ireland and smaller islands in the area such as the Isle of Man.

WEAKNESSES: Food, expensive, tourist hordes, bad weather

SOUTHEAST EUROPE/BALKANS: Means Slovenia, former Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria
